Cserpent attempts knitting and is foiled…

Well i expect i must, as so often is the case in my life, begin with apologies.

The first must go to Kat McLeod, the very talented Melbourne artist from who i seem to have shamelessly pillaged and plagiarised by adding wool to my latest drawing. All i can say in my defence is that i have just this week taken up knitting and this was the very first bit of stitch that i put together. It was shit, obviously, so i stopped knitting it, but it’s tantalising yellowness and (literally) hours of work that i put into it would not allow for me to throw it away, therefore i was inspired by it’s skirt-like shape to add it to a drawing and hay presto, a poor imitation of Kat! Also, i believe i heard somewhere that imitation is the very highest compliment so there we are, i’ve actually done a good thing (???).

2nd on the apology agenda is to say, by gosh i really haven’t been keeping to my daily drawing protocol have i? I doubt that anyone reading this blog really particularly let it upset them, or were at any point overheard to say “Gosh, she really hasn’t been keeping to her daily drawing protocol has she?”. But irrespective i feel an explanation is due and the explanation is that i have indeed been drawing but they’ve been those bloody difficult-takes hours and days-rub them out 800 times and start again-type drawings. So i have been working, honest. I have also, as i mentioned previously, been trying to knit, but that is by the by.

I hope to have 2 more drawings up that i’ve been working on during the week by the end of today but who can say what horrors or delights may delay this dear wish. We are all subject to the fates.

I’m sure i had many more things to add but i can’t remember what they were as i just ate lunch and my head is full of rice. So without further delay, today’s offering.
